Nigeria

I found myself thinking alot about Nigeria lately. With the 2011 election coming up, what Nigeria needs is good leadership. It doesn't matter where the leader comes from, we need a leader who is strong and patriotic. Nigeria has a chronic leadership problem that needed to be solved first before the nation can progress anywhere. We need a devoted leader that can tackel corruption that has almost become synonymous with the name "Nigeria." We need leaders that will be loyal to the nation and not their own pocket. Only after this can the nation move forward. Nigeria is the most populous black nation. We have over 150million people. We have the human power in number, we just need to harness it like China is doing. I've heard that one in every six black person is Nigerian, same as around one six human being is Chinese. We need to make the nation work and shut-up irresponsible people who are calling for the nations separation.

The Ache in my tooth

So I've been having this toothache for about two weeks and I've managed to keep the pain under wrap with Advil. That is until Wednesday morning when I woke-up at 4am with the most horrible pain I've ever felt in my life. I was almost in tears as I roll around the bed in totall agony for hours untill I can get hold of a dentist in the morning. I picked up the a phonebook a turned the page in hurry to the dentists page. I dailed the first number I layed my eyes on. I needed a dentist, any dentist. it doesn't matter and I dont care as long as he/she can pulled the stupid tooth out. The pain has subsided a little but my head still felt like a church bell was ringing in their. The pain was still unbearable allthough I had just taking Aleve few minute ago. The medication is ineffective. I had dailed three numbers before I could find a dentist that would accept a new walk-in patient with no dental insurance.
"Can you come in at 10:30?" The nice lady on the phone asked as I was contemplating trying another tablet of Aleve.
"Yes Ma'am!" I uncrossed my fingers and breath a sigh of relif. Thank you Jesus, especially because I dont have clinicals today.
Two hours later I was lying on the dentist's chair waiting for the result of the x-ray. The Doctor was probably in his late twenties. He smilled as he streched his hand towards me.
"Mr. Odedere, I am Doctor Andrews." He pronounced my name incredibly well
"Well, we will not be able to save your tooth, will you like me to take it out?"
"I really dont mind, as long as the pain stops" I said, still grimacing
He smilled "I know what you mean. Toothache is no joke. Give me a few minutes."
He stepped out of the room. I sank back into the chair as i get ready to say bye-bye to this tooth that has toutured me for so long.

Happiness

Mood is contagious, remember this the next time you wake up on the wrong side of the bed, especially around people you love, and remember happiness is nothing but a state of mind. You can choose to have inner peace, you can decide to be happy, despite all that is going on around you. I seen and read about people who despite all odds and everything going on around them choose to remain happy. Paul and Silas in the bible were arrested, beaten, shackled and jailed. They could have had their spirit crushed, they could have been down crying, sulking and blaming each other, they could have been causing their luck and just sit there wondering what kind of life is this and why their life was so hard, but instead they were praying and singing. No matter how many people love you, its all gonna be in vain if you don't love yourself

Nigeria’s ten most memorable top classic games

10) 2008 Olympic loss:- Argentina got their revenge on Nigeria in the 2008 Olympics. In 1996 Nigeria had won the Olympic gold by beating 3-2 in the final. This time it was Argentina’s turn to break the heart of super eagles fans, when Messi and co beat Nigeria 1-0
9) For number 9 I put together all the matches that led Nigeria to miss a place in the 2006 world cup. Nigeria as been at every world cup since 1994 and the super eagles’ fan are used to seeing them at the world cup. So, missing out on the 2006 world cup was a big deal.
8) This match was another heartbreaker. Nigeria’s hope in the world cup was dashed unexpectedly by Denmark. We had went past Spain in the opening round and hadn’t take Denmark very seriously.
7) Fourteen years after hosting and then winning the nation’s cup for the first time Nigeria became champions of African again in 1994 by beating Zambia 2-1.

6) Nigeria won this match to grab the gold at the Atlanta Olympics

5) Nigeria wins the Nation’s cup for the first time in 1980 by beating Algeria 3-0
4) Nigeria had surprised the world by reaching the round of 16 in their world cup debut, but were beating by Italy in this match in extra time.

3) Nigeria conquered Spain 3-2 in the 1998 world cup

2)In year 2000 Nigeria host the ANC again. This time in conjunction with Ghana. Nigeria got to the final with Cameroon and came back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the match and went to penalties only to loose to Cameroon in one of the most controversial penalty kicks in the history of African football.

1) I believe few people would argue with this number one most memorable match. it’s the semis in Atlanta Olympics and Nigeria is down 3-1 to world champion and the favorite team to win the Gold, Brazil. It was nothing short of a miracle when Nigeria shocked the world of football by coming back and beating Brazil 4-3. It was a final in a semi-final.
